There is an on going debate whether directories are still relevant for search engine optimization. The key to determine whether or not the directory is valid is if it can answer these two questions:
- Is the directory relevant to the site’s category?
- Can it provide value to the listed sites?
If it can, then you are safe to list your sites in that directory.
